Chana Dal Barfi

 To make Chana Dal Barfi, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup chana dal (split chickpeas)
  • 1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse and soak the chana dal for at least 2 hours. Drain and grind the dal into a fine paste using as little water as possible.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan and add the ground dal paste. Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture turns golden brown and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  3. Add the sugar, milk, and cardamom powder to the pan and mix well. Cook the mixture for another 5-7 minutes or until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  4. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes. Grease a plate or tray and spread the mixture evenly.
  5. Garnish with chopped nuts. Let the barfi cool completely. Once cooled, cut into desired shape and size and serve.
