Chana Dal Barfi
To make Chana Dal Barfi, you will need the following ingredients:- 1 cup chana dal (split chickpeas)
- 1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios, etc.)
Instructions:
- Rinse and soak the chana dal for at least 2 hours. Drain and grind the dal into a fine paste using as little water as possible.
- Heat ghee in a pan and add the ground dal paste. Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture turns golden brown and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- Add the sugar, milk, and cardamom powder to the pan and mix well. Cook the mixture for another 5-7 minutes or until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes. Grease a plate or tray and spread the mixture evenly.
- Garnish with chopped nuts. Let the barfi cool completely. Once cooled, cut into desired shape and size and serve.
